Of all the book's characters, Temple is, if nothing else, the one who makes the best effort to change. This is in contrast to Lamb, who begins the book as a changed man, but reverts to the berserker ways of his past as events in joe abercrombie red country story unfold.

Cosca may well be Abercrombie's most memorable character. The best thing however is one for those that have read the prequels. A couple of our favourite characters return!

He dares and succeeds to make a non-western-enthusiastic like me pretty hyped up. I was, subsequently, pleasantly surprised with this book. Those who read my review for Best Served Cold will note that I was not overly fond of the dark and grim nature of the book. The undercurrents of this book are cowardice and loyalty, and the conclusion left me saddened, if unsurprised which is not to say I saw the ending coming, but rather, it makes sense given the character joe abercrombie red country were given. Abercrombie, I think, is not a writer I should grow too attached to.

My diagnosed depression would not benefit from reading too much Abercrombie too quickly. He is a once a year guy, I think; maybe more. Nevertheless, his writing is beautiful; descriptive, emotive, and violent. Before I get any further in this review, I must admit that the only other Abercrombie I've read is his The First Law trilogy, but this book made it joe abercrombie red country easy to jump back to old times.

SF : Red Country / Joe Abercrombie ★★★★

Having studied as a lawyer, I've learned that you can argue anything you want, so while I can't compare Abercrombie's newest joe abercrombie red country his last two offerings, I can find a place for myself.

For those who have only read The First Law, you're in for another treat. Obviously, I need to get back in the saddle, so to speak, and one of the things I've really missed is how quotable Abercrombie is.

These lines just jump off the page and make you think about them long afterward. As Oscar Wilde has said, "Quotation is a serviceable substitute for wit.
